NGX CEO Was in LONDON Yesterday Telling Global Investors Nigeria is Open For Business

Yesterday, Popoola appeared live on BBC Newsday in London during President Tinubu's UK state visit, declaring that Nigeria's capital market is undergoing a full re-rating by global investors.
His exact words: "What we are seeing is a gradual re-rating of Nigeria. Investors are beginning to assess data, returns, reforms and improving macroeconomic direction, and that is changing sentiment."
This is HUGE. When foreign capital starts flowing into NGX:
✅ Demand for bluechip stocks increases
✅ Naira gets indirect support
✅ Valuations re-price upward
Popoola stressed that the focus now is ensuring global recognition translates into sustained capital flows not just short-term interest.
Are Nigerian stocks finally becoming a global investment destination? What stocks do you think foreign investors will target first?

That's a good one. With stocks like seplat and gtco already listed in London stock exchange and Zenith aiming for that too. It's good. I feel when dangote lists his refinery, it would attract a,lot of foreign investors

This is an important signal, and it shouldn’t be taken lightly.

The NGX CEO’s appearance in London reflects a concerted push to reposition Nigeria in the eyes of global investors.

When he talks about a “gradual re-rating,” he is referring to a shift in perception: investors are now looking beyond headlines to data, macro reforms, and corporate earnings.
