Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has given advice to the incoming lawmakers to prioritize the interest of citizens.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is the Governor of Lagos State.

He advised the lawmakers-elect from different states to ensure they place priority on the interest of the citizens. He mentioned this on Saturday.

This was when he hosted Mr Tajudeen Abass who is a political aspirant vying for the office of the House of Representatives Speaker.
This was held at the Lagos House in Marina.

He mentioned that the objective people vying for positions in the legislature should have should be in the interest of the people.

Usually there are serious competitions when vying for positions such as these.

He said that the unity of Nigeria should be more important than the interest of the political aspirants. He said the objective is to make sure Nigeria is United despite many challenges.

Many people who have been elected in both chambers of the National Assembly are of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Lawmakers-elect are scheduled to choose their presiding officers the same day that the 10th Assembly is set to hold. This will be on the 13th of June 2023.

Sanwo-Olu went ahead to advise that They shouldn't take any member-elect for granted and they should allow their leadership to reflect the people's interest.
