Obi Cubana's mother's burial was the talk of the town on 16th July, 2021. Even Wizkid's birthday, which was on that same day, didn't gather much attention like this event did.

The billionaire and club owner stunned guests and gripped Nigerians with fear as he made money rain and gave them a proper display of wealth.

Obi Cubana mother's burial was staged at his hometown in Oba, Anambra State. After planning the burial of his mom Late Mrs Ezinne Iyiegbu for seven months straight, the extravaganza was second to none.

The burial arrangements took off on Thursday, 15th July with the service of songs and wake keep at St. Paul's Anglican church. The party didn't take place until the next day 16th July 2021.

It was serious business at Oba that day as wads of cash were scattered abroad at the location of the ceremony as Obi Cubana and his circle of friends exceeded people's expectations. His colleagues had already made donations in cows, foodstuffs and millions of naira to the popular businessman.

Guests were completely satisfied because there were over 350 cows slaughtered at the event to celebrate his mother's burial. Obi Cubana's friends and colleagues all turned up at the event in expensive cars to support him.

Top celebrities and important personalities including Kanayo O. Kanayo, Alex Ekubo, Regina Daniels' husband Ned Nwoko, Nigerian footballer Emmanuel Emenike, Davido, Ubi Franklin, E-money, Kcee, D-Banj, and the owner of the popular Lagos club Quilox, Shina Peller among others all graced the event.

While some applauded Obi Cubana for giving his mother a befitting burial, most people said it was an unnecessary display of wealth. They described it as a carnival because it already lacked its initial purpose which was to pay last respect to the deceased.

Apart from the lavish spending at the funeral, Obi Cubana bought a golden casket worth N30M to lay his mother in. Before the burial arrangements, he also made a customized diamond neck piece, a pendant and a chain with his mother's face on it which cost about N41M.
