Hours after the nominated Nigerian artists couldn't bag a Grammy Award, VeryDarkMan set his ring light to rant about how the song that won the Best Global Music Album was nowhere worth it. The album was titled This Moment by an Indian band identified as Shakti. However, it didn't even have up to 1 million views across the streaming platform. This discovery shocked VeryDarkMan to the bones as he wondered how on Earth the album won the category where the likes of Burna Boy's "I Told Them" and Davido's "Timeless" were present.
He opined that the album didn't meet the standard of a song that was streamed globally because a Global Music Album means an album must have been streamed globally before it can qualify for this category. "What is global? They said global is relating to the world. Worldwide. So this song, look at the album on YouTube. None of them has 1 million views. So how does the world know about it that is winning over Davido and Burnaboy?"
Nigerians, especially music enthusiasts were pissed over the outcome of last night's Grammy Awards event. Many assumed that the Award was rigged because those who won it shouldn't have.
