How to apply to be an INEC adhoc staff
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the recruitment of ad hoc staff for off-cycle elections which will come up soon. INEC which is an electoral body in Nigeria was established by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in order to oversee elections in the country.
INEC recently launched a portal which is for the recruitment of ad hoc staff for the 2023 off-cycle governorship elections. The off-cycle elections are set to hold on the 1th of November in 3 states which are Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states.

Ad hoc staff comprise Presiding officers, supervisory presiding officers, assistant presiding officers, Technicians for registration area and also managers for registration area centre (SPO/PO/APO/RATECHs/RAC Managers).
INEC put out a notice earlier this year saying the portal for applications would commence on the 31st of August and end on the 2nd of October. The notice was put out to inform and invite people interested in playing a crucial role in the governorship elections.
They revealed that the commission has approved the activation of INECPRES on the Mobile App which will be for Android phones alone and then the web portal for laptops and desktops. They revealed that the portal for applications is open to all eligible applicants in all the categories of the ad-hoc staff except for the Collation officers.

- INEC has revealed that all applicants must not be members of any political party neither must they have demonstrated in any form support for a political party or candidate.
- Another thing to note is that all applicants must reside in the state they have selected except for those applying for the registration area technicians.

- All applicants should fill their forms online (either the App or web portal) so they can be eligible for consideration as ad-hoc staff in the 2023 General Elections.
