Media IT girl Toke Makinwa stirred reactions after revealing how she battled academic challenges while in secondary school.
The 39-year-old TV host revealed this at her fragrance launch event on Tuesday, 7th May 2024. The event which took place at RJ4, Victoria Island, Lagos. It was graced by celebrities including Iyabo Ojo and her partner Paulo, Tacha, Toyin Abraham, Enioluwa, Mercy Aigbe, and Pretty Mike among others.
Recalling her early days, Toke Makinwa appreciated her adopted mother for taking care of her after she lost her parents to a gas explosion. Toke Makinwa revealed how she struggled academically, making the 52nd position in class out of 52 students.
Toke Makinwa shared a story of how she once changed her position from 52nd to 2nd on her report card. She showed her mother the fake results thinking she could get away with it not knowing she was about to receive the worst beating of her life. Toke Makinwa thanked her mother for never giving up on her and always encouraging her to study even when it was difficult.
