The former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, revealed how he almost died from poisoning in December 2018 during the Governorship campaign at PDP Secretariat.
He told this story in a family Thanksgiving service that was held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Rumuepirikom Deanery, of the Diocese of Niger Delta North.
Wike said Chief Emeka, his former Chief of Staff, had invited him for a Thanksgiving. He said he struggled to attend and wasn't stable enough to speak at the ceremony. Later in the night, his condition grew worse to the extent he got flown out of Nigeria to Beirut, Lebanon.
When they arrived at the hospital in Lebanon, the Doctors ran a series of tests on him and diagnosed him with liver and kidney failure. The result stated that he had consumed poison.
Surprisingly, he had no idea who poisoned him. Wike expressed gratitude to Almighty God for his miraculous healing over his life. Within one week, he was healed and attributed his healing to God for not allowing the evil plot of enemies to prevail.

8. His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was represented by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
Others who attended were former Governors, royal fathers, former ministers, the National Working Committee of PDP, and other dignitaries. They all listened in shock as the Wike spoke because they had no idea about the battles he fought while he was the Governor of Rivers State.
They were all present to witness the testimony of Wike as he spoke about how God has been faithful to him.
