Toke Makinwa said this in a recent episode of Gold Room with Iyabo Ojo. She stated that as a woman, one has to match the standards of their significant other. She said it is delusional for a woman who resides in the slums of Mushin to ask a man to buy her a mansion in Banana Island when she cannot even move herself out of her current situation.

Toke Makinwa said it is reasonable for a lady to meet her man halfway than expect him to do everything. She said a wise woman is ambitious, knows her final destination isn't where she is now and already has plans with her partner to get to where she is going.

The host of the show, Iyabo Ojo supported her stance saying some girls go into a relationship nowadays asking for materialistic things such as shoes, wigs and bags. She said the girls make it seem as though they are about to start a business when they eventually get into a relationship.

Iyabo Ojo said the girls are not even thinking about starting a business. On the contrary, they are only concerned about their flamboyant lifestyle and slaying on the gram. She said men cannot take them seriously with such a lifestyle.

Toke Makinwa further added that that is the reason why men hurl insults on women and this has caused men to see women with high standards as too demanding because the bare minimum ladies ask for the wrong things.

She said, "Imagine you enter this empire now and you're asking Iyabo Ojo for a wig. How? There has to be a balance where women needs to tell themselves some truth."
