Rauf Aregbesola claimed that his successor, Adegboyega Oyetola, dumped his educational programs.

Aregbesola served as Osun State Governor from 2010- 2018. His successor, Adegboyega Oyetola served as Osun State Governor from 2018-2022.

Aregbesola said he decided to replicate Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s education program in Osun state.

He said before he left office, his administration built 11 state-of-the-art 3,000-capacity model secondary schools. He claimed that he conducted some upgrades to the existing ones.

The ex. Governor further said Osun would have had nothing less than 44,000 world beaters had it been the program was sustained by his successor.

He further said building public schools is a dream that the government should not give up. It should be a priority and government should be committed to investing in public education.

However, the adviser on education to Governor Oyetola, Jamiu Olawunmi, disclosed that Oyetola abandoned Aregbesola's program because of its many defects.

He said that the schools with a capacity of 3000 students had attendance of less than 500 students.

He also mentioned that the buildings had structural defects and some students couldn't tender their certificates due to some mix-ups of the programme.

Hence, Oyetola had no choice but to discontinue the programme.
