Former Nottingham Forest attacker Brendan Johnson scored a 96th-minute goal to send Tottenham Hotspur back into the Premier League top four after a Comeback Against Brighton.

The Tottenham Hotspur side fell behind after Van De Ven brought down Danny Welbeck in the penalty box.

Pascal Gross wasted no time sending the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper to the wrong side of the post with a well-placed penalty.

Tottenham Hotspur got a goal in the second half with a beautiful tap-in from Sarr.

Despite Tottenham's best time on the pitch, they suffered an early scare, with Brighton coming close twice to scoring a goal.

However, a 96th goal was enough to secure a win against the Brighton side, who started perfectly well.

How Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to Defeat Brighton in the Premier League

In the first minute of the match, Tottenham thought they were behind, but Vicario was there to save them.

Brighton was handed a penalty in the 16th minute of the match after Van de Ven brought down Danny Welbeck in the 18-yard box.

Brighton midfielder Gross sent Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Vicario the wrong way to put Brighton ahead in the game.

In the 22nd minute of the match, Maddison created a chance for his teammate Richarlison, who was in a good position to score the equalizer. However, Steele raced out of his goal line to make an impressive save.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Vicario was forced into a save by Mitoma after the goalkeeper made a horrible mistake in his yard.

Tottenham winger Kulusevski received a nice pass from Richarlison and had an opportunity to equalize for the London side, but his attempt was saved by Brighton goalkeeper Steele.

In the 44th minute of the match, Richarlison had an opportunity to put the ball into the net, but his poor attempt was not good enough.

In the second half, Maddison hit the ball from a distance, but it was not enough to beat Brighton goalkeeper Steele.

Tottenham Hotspur found the equalizer in the 61st minute, with Sarr slotting home the ball from close range.

Despite Tottenham Hotspur getting a goal in the second half, Brighton looked like a team interested in winning the match.

They had a chance in the 77th minute of the match, but their attempt was blocked by the rushing Tottenham defender Van De Ven.

What Next for Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton?

Tottenham will play against Wolverhampton Wanderers on February 17, 2024, at 4:00 pm, as they are looking forward to securing a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Brighton, on the other hand, will travel to Sheffield United on February 18, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.

The Brighton team are expected to defeat the relegation-battling Sheffield United side.
