It was still goalless in the second half but the tides turned against Napoli in the 66th minute when Politano was sent off with a straight red card.

10 minutes after Politano's red card, Roma took the lead. Pellegrini fired the hosts in front thanks to El Shaarawy's assist.

The heated clash finally ended with Roma winning 2-0 as Lukaku scored a stoppage-time goal to secure the lead.

Jose Mourinho was remonstrating at the touchline as tensions between the players soared during the match.

In the 38th minute, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia plunged and curled up on the ground after a light tackle by Bryan Cristante.

The incident occured close to where Jose Mourinho was standing at the technical area, and the Portuguese could not help it but protest the decision to award a free-kick to Napoli due to the tackle.

He bagged a yellow card for the touchline antics. Meanwhile, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia had lost his cool on the Portuguese. Kvaratskhelia howled on Mourinho for his touchline histrionics saying, 'pasta!' 'pasta'!! (meaning stop it! stop it!!).

Apparently furious with the reaction of Kvaratskhelia, Mourinho paced down to meet the Georgian and grabbed him seeming to whisper a satirical advice on respect to his ear before giving him a awkward hug and leaving.

Mourinho was also seen in another furious bust-up with Victor Osimhen during the game before the latter was sent off.

Napoli ended the game with nine men after Politano and Victor Osimhen's red card with Mourinho's Roma running out with a 2-0 win.

Mourinho's animated reactions during the Napoli is no surprise. The Portuguese is known for his controversial speeches and regular fallouts with match officials.

He has served numerous touchline ban due to his antics on the technical area. His contract with Roma will expire this season with reports linking him to an exit from the club.
