Former Premier League manager Jose Mourinho is keeping tabs of teams vying for the Premier League title this season, and has drop his top two teams that will challenge for the Premier League title.

With one match left to wrap up the first half of the league, the Premier League title race is gradually shaping up. Some teams could be considered out of the race while others are still hopeful of going for the ultimate trophy.

Arsenal returned to the summit of the table after 2-0 win over Brighton at the weekend thanks to Gabriel Jesus' flying header and Kai Havertz' late strike.

Liverpool failed to overtake the Gunners after they shared spoils with Manchester United following a barren draw at Anfield.

Manchester City slipped further from the summit after they settled for a dramatic 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at Etihad no thanks to Michael Oliseh's late spotkick.

Aston Villa are pushing the boundaries and braving it into the top three with a superlative performance. They Birmingham-based outfit followed up their wins over Manchester City and Arsenal with a comeback victory over Brentford away from home.

They are third on the table, and have been tipped to join the title although they have played down their chances.

With the race for the title shaping up, Jose Mourinho has named two teams he believes will challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Speaking on Obi One Podcast, Jose Mourinho picked Manchester City and Liverpool to challenge for the Premier League title leaving.

The former Chelsea boss gave Manchester City 51% chance to win the tile and 49% to Liverpool.

"Man City 51%, and Liverpool 49%," he said.

Mourinho mischievously left out Arsenal on the mix despite the latter leading the pack with 39 points, a point ahead of Liverpool.

When asked of Arsenal title chances, he simply replied, 'nah,' with a smirk of sarcasm on his face.

The Premier League title race narrowed down to a two-horse between Arsenal and Manchester City last season but the Gunners slipped late into the campaign allowing Manchester City clinch the title.

This season, Arsenal are back on the title race but there are doubts on their ability to sustain the prolific run and clinch their first EPL title after 20 years.
