Jude Bellingham has made it 16 goals in 18 games across all competitions but it was not sufficient to stop Real Madrid from dropping two points against Real Betis

Bellingham’s league record is now 12 goals in 14 matches, similar to Cristiano Ronaldo in his first season with the Spanish powerhouse.

Jude Bellingham has done what De Lima Ronaldo also managed to do in his only season in La Liga and what Robert Lewandowski accomplished for FC Barcelona last season.

The former Birmingham City midfielder has now joined the group of some of the greatest goalscorers in the history of La Liga but he didn’t end up on the winning side because Aitor Ruibal equalized for Real Betis with an effort from a distance.

Betis could have even won the match with their last attempt but Andriy Lunin made a great save over Chadi Riyad’s header to deny the home team.

Real Madrid waited until minute 53 to open the scoring and when they did, it was Bellingham who picked the lock on Betis’ defense, finishing a move that was subtlety from start to finish.

Jude Bellingham played the ball into Brahim Diaz and then made a faultlessly timed sloping run in behind the home side’s defense. Brahim shaved the ball back to him and he took it on his chest before brushing it past Real Betis goalkeeper, Rui Silva.

The former Borussia Dortmund star made his famous arms open celebration in front of the Betis supporters and they booed his every touch afterward.

Therefore, his excellent performance earned him a Player of the Match award, making it ten in 18 games so far this season.

In addition, it is safe to say Jude Bellingham has proved to be the signing of the season judging by his perfect run of form since he joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023.

What is next for Jude Bellingham?

The former Birmingham City player will be seen next in action for Real Madrid in their next game in the UEFA Champions League clash against Union Berlin on Tuesday, December 12, where he will be looking forward to adding to his tally.
