Real Madrid brought out their scoring boots at the Santiago Bernabeu, and they secured a rampant 4-2 victory over Napoli.

Napoli raced into an early lead in the 9th minute after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia delivered an enticing cross toward the back post.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo then changed the direction of the ball back to the 6-yard area, leaving Giovanni Simeone to smuggle the ball in from close range.

Referee Francois Letexier had to check if the ball had indeed crossed the line, due to goalie Andriy Lunin trying to parry it away, and he ultimately confirmed the goal.

Just in the blink of an eye, Real Madrid got back on level terms, with Rodrygo hitting an amazing right-footed finish into the top-right corner, leaving goalkeeper Alex Meret with no chance to save that one.

The encounter was vastly entertaining, with both teams being loose and offering neutrals the opportunity to witness breathtaking goals.

In the 22nd minute, Jude Bellingham took Carlo Ancelotti's side into the lead for the first time in the game, heading home a delightful cross sent in by David Alaba.

Real Madrid could have extended their lead to 3 in the first 45 after a shot from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was blocked by Alaba.

Los Blancos immediately recycled the ball forward, with Rodrygo releasing the ball to Brahim Diaz, who pulled the trigger but his effort was wide of the right-hand post of shot-stopper Meret.

The home side went into the break leading and in an advantageous position of possibly increasing their lead in the second half.

Following the restart of proceedings in the second 45, Victor Osimhen came on to replace Giovanni Simeone.

Piotr Zielinski picked up the game's first yellow card in the 49th minute for a rash tackle on Toni Kroos.

In the 50th minute, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa thundered into goal a half-volley to get the game to parity.

3 minutes before the hour mark, forward Joselu was brought in place of Daniel Ceballos, in what seemed like a tactical substitution.

In the 65th minute, both teams made important substitutions with Real Madrid's Nicolas Paz coming on for Brahim Diaz.

Walter Mazzarri also introduced Eljif Elmas for Piotr Zielinski, with the racey-pacey encounter tied at 2-2.

Napoli thought they had gone ahead in the 68th minute, with Victor Osimhen nicely converting an opportunity provided for him by Matteo Politano, however, the Nigerian was adjudged to be offside and the goal was canceled.

12 minutes before the expiration of regulation time, Mazzarri also sent on Jens-Lys for Matteo Politano.

The red light began to beep for Napoli and they rightly conceded in the 84th minute, with Nicolas Paz scoring his first senior goal for Real Madrid.

In the 87th minute, Napoli also made their last set of substitutions, with Giacomo Raspadori entering the fray for Stanislav Lobotka, while Alessandro Zanoli replaced Juan Jesus.

Carlo Ancelotti also made his own last set of changes, with Lucas Vazquez replacing Rodrygo and Nacho Fernandez coming on for Ferland Mendy.

Napoli midfielder, Jens-Lys Cajuste was handed a yellow for diving just in the 90th minute, before Joselu put the icing on the cake for Real Madrid, converting the ball from close range into an empty net.
