Real Madrid will miss midfield sensation Jude Bellingham on a short injury layoff after he picked up an issue during La Liga victory over Girona at Santiago Bernabeu.

The prolific young playmaker shone bright for Los Blancos as the team saw off Girona in a top-of-the-table La Liga clash. Bellingham scored Real Madrid's second and third goal to bag his brace and catapult the team to a resounding 4-0 victory.

The win which has seen Real Madrid extend their lead on top of the La Liga table to 5 points came at a huge cost as the former Borussia Dortmund picked up an injury.

After the game, an update of the injury situation shared by Fabrizio Romano reveals Jude Bellingham has been diagnosed with a high-grade sprain and will miss action for Los Blancos for 2-3 weeks.

This means Bellingham will not be available for Real Madrid's Champions League round 16 first leg against RB Leipzig. He will also miss some La Liga matches but will be back to action for the Champions League round 16 return leg against RB Leipzig on March 7, 2024.

Bellingham continued on his stellar start to life with Real Madrid in the game against Girona. His brace has already taken his goal tally for the Madrid-based club to 15 goals. As per ESPNFC, Bellingham has already scored more La Liga goals than Real Madrid legends such as David Beckham, Michael Owen, Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder, and Michael Laudrup.
