Ibikunle Amosun, the former governor of Ogun State, has announced his ambition to run for President of Nigeria.

On Thursday, Amosun made the announcement at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre in Abuja's Central Business District (CBD), Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The former Senator joins the likes of Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, Labour and Employment Minister Chris Ngige, and Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi in formally declaring to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Recall that Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Kayode Fayemi, the Governor of Ekiti State, confirmed their interest in running for president in 2023 on Wednesday.

Oshiomhole stated that he is running to lead Nigeria to greatness. From Monday, May 30 through Wednesday, June 1, the APC will host its special presidential convention.
