Lagos State Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Philip Aivoji who was kidnapped a few days ago remains in the kidnappers' den after a gun battle between abductors and policemen.

Philip Aivoji was kidnapped on Thursday at the Ogere area along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway after returning from the PDP South-West Zonal meeting in Ibadan. The chairman was kidnapped alongside another colleague who later escaped from the kidnappers' den. The kidnappers demanded a sum of N200M for his release.

On Friday, the policemen went on a mission in a bid to rescue the PDP chairman alongside other victims who had suffered the same fate. Unfortunately, a 37-year-old woman known as Bilikisu Kazeem died during a gun battle between the policemen and the kidnappers. Nine others were rescued by the policemen but the PDP chairman remains in captivity.
