Lionel Messi has been backed to make an appearance at the 2034 World Cup, a period he would have turned 47-year-old.

After leading Argentina to their third World Cup victory in 2022, the 36-year-old Messi has not shown any signs of slowing down in his football career.

Despite leaving PSG to join Inter Miami, he has continued to perform at a remarkable level.

Following his incredible form, FIFA President Gianni Infantino has joked that Messi could potentially play at the 2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia, and he hopes that Messi will continue to play for as long as he wants.

Gianni Infantino said: “I hope he reaches the next World Cup, the one after that, and the one in ’34 as well. (He should play) as long as he wants.”

Messi would be 47 at the 2034 FIFA edition and it does not look real that he will participate in that tournament. However, it is possible that the Barcelona legend could appear at the next World Cup in three years.
