The German tactician was visibly emotional as the fans expressed their admiration for the manager with a classic rendition of "You Will Never Walk Alone" and a good round of applause as he walked in and took his sit on the coaches bench.

It was another big moment for the former Borussia Dortmund manager who had won the hearts of the fans with his stellar eight-and-a-half-year run in the dugout with Liverpool.

Regarded as one of the best managers at the club, Klopp led Liverpool to six major trophies, winning every trophy available for the club.

He reinvented the wheels at Liverpool, transforming the club from a mid-table club to a domestic and European giant. The 56-year-old's benchmarks at Anfield could not but endear him to the hearts of passionate Liverpool fans, hence the emotional tribute by the fans in their first meeting with the German after his announcement.

After the emotional opening atmosphere at Anfield, Klopp continued with his stellar run this season as Liverpool edged out Norwich City with a 5-2 victory to qualify for the FA Cup quarterfinals
