Real Madrid are expected not to offer Luka Modric a new contract at the end of the season, bringing to an end his 11 years at Santiago Bernabeu.

The midfielder will be a free agent at the end of the season, with rumors of him making a move to continue his career in the Saudi Arabia Pro League despite turning down a big offer from the league in the transfer window.

In November 2023, Luka Modric agent Borja Couce revealed the midfielder received a lot of offers from the Saudi Arabia Pro League.

He said, "This summer there was interest in Modric with the aim of signing him."

"The player has several offers, from a club in the capital and another club. Modric is currently thinking about Real Madrid, but the idea of him moving to the Saudi Pro League is possible if the offer is suitable."

Due to the Camavinga injury, the Croatian had been a regular starter in the midfield for Carlo Ancelotti, creating two assists in 18 appearances in all competitions.

When Camavinga becomes fit again, Luka Modric will be dropped in the pecking order, as Ancelotti will love to pair Toni Kroos, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, and Camavinga in the midfield.

Modric doesn't seem happy with the game time at Real Madrid. He wants to continue showing his exceptional talent, but the Real Madrid hierarchy felt it was time to let go of their older players and build for the future.

The 38-year-old midfielder is expected to participate in Euro 2024, and he is not expected to stop playing until he is 40.
