Man arraigned in Lagos Court stealing and selling employer’s bus

A man who has been identified as Soji Owowa, had been arraigned in a court in Lagos state for stealing his employer’s bus.
He was arraigned before Magistrate Patrick Nwaka of a Yaba Magistrates’ Court.

He was arraigned on 2 counts of stealing. He had sold his employer’s minibus which is valued at a sum of N3.2m. He sold the bus for N550,000.
This man was arraigned on Thursday. The prosecutor who is Thomas Nurudeen revealed to the court that this man committed this crime on the 30th of March 2023. This happened in Lekki, Lagos State.

The defendant had run away with the minibus belonging to his employer. He took the bus to Ibadan and he and his friend conspired together to sell the bus. They then sold the bus without the employers knowledge.

The defendant collected N89,000 while his friend collected the rest of the money which is a larger amount.The minibus they sold is the property of Why Worry Transport and Logistics Limited.

Soji pleaded not guilty to the charges which were read against him. The Magistrate then granted him bail of a sum of N100,000 alongside two sureties in like sum.
He also adjourned the case till the 4th of December 2023.
