Manchester City will lock horns against Chelsea in the English Premier League on Saturday, February 17 at 18:30 GMT.

Pep Guardiola and his men will be looking forward to a seventh straight win in the Premier League when they host the Blues at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening.

Preview

Manchester City earned a hard fought three points in a 2-0 victory over Everton last weekend.

That latest league victory kept the Citizens close to Liverpool with a game in hand, though the Reds will have the opportunity to lay down the lead to their title rivals when they head to Brentford on Saturday lunchtime.

The current treble winners will return to Etihad at the back of their comfortable 3-1 away victory over FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, February 13.

Chelsea, on the other hand, claimed a morale boosting 3-1 win over London neighbors Crystal Palace on Monday, night, February 12 at Selhurst Park.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have now won their last two away games but it's going to be a very tall order for them to make it a hat-trick of road wins this weekend.

Manchester City vs Chelsea Team News

Manchester City

Manchester City were without a trio of Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, and Sergio Gomez for the midweek game against Copenhagen.

Gvardiol has since been ruled out for a few weeks with an ankle injury, while Gomez might not be available for the weekend match.

Kovacic is expected to be back in training this week but the game may come too soon for the former Chelsea midfielder.

Following John Stones' return, Guardiola has a fairly settled backline with the England defender partnering Ruben Dias alongside Three Lions teammate Kyle Walker.

In Gvardiol's absence, either Manuel Akanji or Nathan Ake will play at left-back but it was Ake who was rested in midweek.

Rodri and De Bruyne are both irreplaceable in central midfield, while Phil Foden has performed excellently well in recent times, forming a good partner with Erling Haaland leading the line.

Both Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva sustained injuries at Parken, with City anxiously awaiting the pair's assessment results.

The England star was replaced by Jeremy Doku, who should retain his spot on the left pending the results of Silva's ankle injury.

Chelsea

The Blues made just one change in their win over Palace as Thiago Silva came in for Benoit Badiashile.

The former PSG player is already facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a groin injury against Aston Villa.

However, Chelsea are also without the Brazilian after he lasted less than an hour of the game at Selhurst Park with a groin case.

Levi Colwill, who has struggled this season playing in a left-back role following Ben Chilwell's absence, will now get the chance to retain his favored position alongside Axel Disasi.

The Blues shot stopper Robert Sanchez and club captain Reece James are both still injured, with Djordje Petrovic maintaining his spot between the sticks and Malo Gusto deputizing at right-back.
