Manchester City will host Everton in the English Premier League on Saturday, February 10, at 1:30 pm (WAT) at the Emirates Stadium.

The Citizens have the chance of moving above their title rivals and first-placed Liverpool if they defeat Everton in front of their home fans.

The defending champions came from behind to secure a 3-1 win over Brentford on Monday, February 5, while Everton's clash against Tottenham Hotspur ended in stalemate on Saturday, February 3.

Preview

The defending champion's victory over Brentford took them within two points behind the league leaders Liverpool with a game in hand, and Saturday’s early kick-off against Everton offers them the opportunity to return to the top of the EPL table for the first time since November.

Man City beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park in their first meeting this season and the Citizens will be sure of further success on Saturday as they have won 11 and drawn two of their previous 13 top-flight meetings with the Toffees.

However, Everton have failed to win in any of their last six top-flight games since winning four League matches in a row without conceding a goal in December 2023, therefore, the results have seen them fall into the bottom three.

The Toffee's back-to-back goalless draws against Aston Villa and Fulham were followed by a 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham last weekend.

The Merseyside outfit head into Saturday's clash having failed to win any of their previous 12 visits to the Etihad Stadium.

They have formerly lost seven and drew five, while they have not won a Premier League home or away game against Man City since their 4-0 victory in January 2017.

Manchester City vs Everton Team News

Man City

Man City heads into this weekend without any injuries at hand. Erling Haaland and Manuel Akanji who were both featured in the matchday squad against Brentford are the most recent duo to recover from injury.

Either Mateo Kovacic or Matheus Nunes could be recalled if Guardiola decides to partner a midfielder with Rodri.

Meanwhile, Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku, and Oscar Bobb have a task on their hands to replace any of Foden, Kevin De Bruyne, Julian Alvarez, or Bernardo Silva, who all provided support in attack for Haaland against Brentford.

On the other hand, Arnaut Danjuma of Everton was forced to miss last weekend's game against Spurs due to an ankle injury, and the winger is still working on his recovery.

Andre Gomes is also suffering from a calf issue and Dele Alli is nursing a groin injury.

However, the Toffees could be boosted by the return of active midfield duo Amadou Onana and Abdoulaye Doucoure, while Ben Godfrey is expected to be fit to participate in Saturday's game despite suffering from cramp in the closing minutes against Tottenham.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin may get the chance once again to lead the Everton attack ahead of Beto, with Harrison and Dwight McNeil expected to be providing support from the flanks.
