Manchester City have suffered a huge blow ahead of their clash against Manchester United, with winger Jack Grealish expected to be unavailable for the game.

Grealish sustained an unfortunate injury during the Cityzens 6-2 fifth Round FA Cup hammering of Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on February 27, 2024.

Jack Grealish was substituted in the 38th minute of the encounter, with Jeremy Doku coming on in his stead.

Grealish had to be consoled by his teammates after he exited the pitch, with the Englishman seen to be emotional.

Speaking after the game, Pep Guardiola touched on the injury, saying: “Looks like it's a recurrence of the groin injury.

“It’s the second time. Hopefully this time he can recover well.”

Manchester City supporters appear in tune with Jack Grealish compared to the 2023 summer signing Jeremy Doku and they have made that known on many occasions this campaign.

They often stressed the need for Doku to be very decisive alongside finishing chances when need be.

Jeremy Doku started the 1-1 draw against Chelsea but his display in the game evoked massive criticism from the fans.

Guardiola has dropped him to the bench for subsequent league matches against Brentford and Bournemouth, with the former Rennes star starting from the bench for the 5th Round FA Cup clash against Luton Town.

Anyway, Manchester City welcome city rivals Manchester United to the Etihad on Sunday, March 3, 2024, and it will be fascinating to see who Pep Guardiola utilizes in that position.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has also had his say on Liverpool's injury issues, expressing that he needs “miracles” to get his injured players back as they chase the quadruple.

The Merseyside-based club were magnificent in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, February 25, 2024, displaying brilliance despite being mudded with injuries.

The Reds also lost Ryan Grabenberch during the final, after he was stamped on by Chelsea's Moises Caicedo.

Grabenberch is expected to be absent from about 2 of Liverpool's coming games, namely; the 5th Round FA Cup against Southampton and their league clash against Nottingham Forest on March 2, 2024.

Additionally, Wataru Endo's fitness level is also uncertain and his availability for the game against Southampton is unknown.

Endo was spotted leaving Wembley on crutches and wearing a protective boot, and the likely layoff to the Japanese indicates that the Reds will be without 13 first-team players, including Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Thiago Alcantara, and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Speaking on the injury problems that his side is bedeviled with, Jurgen Klopp said:

“We need miracles with a few players. I don’t want to rule them out for too long,” Klopp told reporters on Tuesday.

“But it is touch and go with a lot of players who were not available for the final: Darwin, Mo, Dom – we have to see what they can do (on Tuesday).

Liverpool sit at the summit of the Premier League table with 60 points from 26 matches, and they are still battling in the UEFA Europa League and FA Cup.
