Marcus Rashford was absent from Manchester United's training on Friday, January 26, 2024, after an illness resulted in him postponing his flight back to Manchester.

This came after Rashford had enjoyed a midweek night out at the Thompsons Garage club in Belfast.

A video surfaced online showing Marcus Rashford going into the Belfast nightclub on Wednesday night, January 24, 2024.

Sources close to the forward claimed the Englishman was out for dinner and had to postpone his flight home after being taken ill.

Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag revealed that the unavailability of Rashford was as a result of illness.

Ten Hag made this known in a presser ahead of the Red Devils FA Cup 4th Round encounter against Newport County on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

Speaking concerning the absence of Rashford and the club's injury issues, Erik Ten Hag said:

“This morning, Rashford was ill, and Evans was ill, so we have to see how they recover, but we have, for the rest, players returning, like Martinez, like Shaw, like Maguire, like Casemiro, which is a good thing.”

Marcus Rashford was also pictured visiting the training ground of Northern Ireland Premiership side Larne during his trip.

A former teammate of Rashford, Roshaun Williams plays for Larne, and the England international went to visit him.

Marcus Rashford had reportedly gone out on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, before he had a day off on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

This incident is coming after the 26-year-old United academy graduate nearly got into the bad books of Ten Hag after he was seen clubbing following Manchester United's embarrassing loss to Manchester City in October 2023.

Pep Guardiola's side bashed the Red Devils 3-0, courtesy of a brace from Erling Haaland and a topping from Phil Foden.

Following the clash, Rashford was seen going to the high-end Manchester nightspot Chinawhite to celebrate his 26th birthday.

The party apparently ended at 3:30 A.M., however, it is unknown if Marcus Rashford was there for the entirety of the bash.

Speaking concerning the incident, Erik Ten Hag, who has been known to be a disciplinarian, expressed that he spoke with Rashford concerning it.

The Dutch tactician said: “I spoke with him about it. It’s unacceptable. He apologized and that is it. For us, it’s an internal matter.

“He (Rashford) is very motivated to put things right. He’s totally with us.”

Marcus Rashford has had a shaky start to the 2023/24 season, scoring just 4 goals and providing 6 assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

This is ridiculously low compared to his 41-goal contribution in 56 appearances for the team last season.

Anyway, he appears to be getting back on track, having found the back of the net in 2 of his last 3 appearances for Manchester United across all competitions.

He last scored for the Red Devils in their last league game against Tottenham Hotspur on January 14, 2024.

Manchester United return to action on Sunday, January 28, 2024, facing Newport County and they will be hoping to get a resounding victory over the English Football League Two side.

Erik Ten Hag's side crashed out of the UEFA Champions League, having finished bottom of their group and they were also bundled out of the Carabao Cup by Newcastle United in Round 4.

The FA Cup appears to be their best chance at winning silverware this campaign, as they are also 16 points away from the summit of the Premier League table - currently being occupied by Liverpool.
