Mental Man killed by Police while resisting arrest after murdering an 84 year old man in Ogun state.
A man who is believed to be mentally ill has been killed by Police men in Ogun state while resisting arrest after he murdered an 84 year old man in Ogun state.
This man has been identified as David Shodola and he is 32 years old. He had killed an 84 year old who has been identified as Alfred Opadipe, by beheading this elderly man.
The police then made attempts to arrest him but he was violently resisting arrest. He had also attacked one of the Policemen with a machete and it was then they killed him as well
This incident happened on Friday in Iperu community, Remo North Local Government Area in Ogun state.
It was SP Omotola Odutola, who is the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), that confirmed this incident to newsmen. She confirmed this to them on Friday in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
The spokesperson revealed that they had received a call from a source whose name won't be revealed. The officers of the Isara Division who were led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Bankole Eluyeru, then went to the scene.
They tried to arrest this man but he was so violent and had attacked an officer with a Machete.
He revealed that the officers were able to kill him.
He also revealed that they gathered some information from the Police and from this info, there was no report stating that this man was mentally challenged.
It's such sad news for the family of the 84 year old victim who was killed. We hope for comfort for that family.
