Minister of Women Affairs Uju Kennedy faces Abuja Hospital for refusing to treat accident victim until she dies
The Minister of Women Affairs Uju Kennedy has tackled the Maitama General Hospital in Abuja for refusing to admit one Greatness Olorunfemi who was a victim of a one-chance accident on the 26th of September until she passed away. Uju Kennedy visited the hospital unannounced and asked to see the person in charge of the accident and emergency unit which happened to be one Mrs Habiba Musa.
She expressed her displeasure over the horrible incident that led Greatness to lose her life because the hospital didn't flinch when the deceased was rushed into their premises after being violently pushed from a moving vehicle. It was reported that the deceased was still breathing when she rushed into the hospital but they left her unattended.
Uju Kennedy has promised that she will not allow the case to be swept under the carpet and would use the hospital as a scapegoat for all hospitals that similarly treat emergency patients. She said that the deceased was a daughter and a citizen of Nigeria, and doesn't deserve to die because a hospital wouldn't treat her after an accident.
When Uju Kennedy asked Mrs. Habiba Musa to explain why the hospital refused to treat the deceased, Mrs Habiba stated that the deceased was brought in dead and wasn't denied medical attention. However, Uju refused to believe her narrative and asked to see the Chief Medical Director.
Currently, Uju is unwilling to let this incident slide and promises to see to it until the late Greatness Olorunfemi gets the justice she deserves.
