Arsenal have now gotten a prayer room at the Emirates, thanks to the largesse of Egyptian defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

Taking to his social media handle, Elneny revealed he has decided to open the prayer space to help Arsenal players say their prayers while thanking the staff and everyone who made it possible for him to create the spiritual space.

"I am so proud to have opened our player prayer room at Emirates Stadium.

"Having this space to contemplate and pray will change the lives of future Arsenal players. I am really grateful to the staff and everyone involved in making this happen."

As captured in the post, Mohamed Elneny's Arsenal prayer center is located at the heart of the Emirates Stadium. And will gather to the spiritual needs of Arsenal players and staff.

It is understood the prayer center will be open to all Arsenal players and staff of all faiths.

Mohamed Elneny is one of the oldest Arsenal players, having joined the club in 2016 during the era of legendary manager Arsene Wenger.

The Egyptian midfielder joined the Gunners from Basel for an undisclosed fee believed to range from £5m to £7.5m.

After a promising start to life under Arsene Wenger, Elneny has struggled to nail down a regular spot in Mikel Arteta's Arsenal setup. He was loaned to Besiktas in 2019 with a buyout clause but was back to the club in 2020 when he began to make inroads on cementing his place in Arteta's squad.

His progress was marred by a devastating injury blow that ruled him out of action for months.

After his long injury spell, the 31-year-old was back in the Gunners squad. He recently signed s one-and-a-half-year contract in 2023 which is set to expire at the end of the season.

He has made only 3 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season and is likely to leave the club at the end of the season.
