After Ilebaye, Neo, and Venita's drama, former season 5 BBNaija housemate, Erica Nlewedim Tweeted that Nigerians love to pity. That tweet didn't sit well with BBNaija lovers, and they lashed out at her.
Recall that Ilebaye was once bullied and slutshamed by TolaniBaj. Netizens called TolaniBaj a rude person and that gained Ilebaye more fans. After Biggie called Ilebaye into the diary room, he advised her to stand up for herself and not allow any housemate to talk down on her. When Neo accused Ilebaye of forcing herself on him, some started supporting Ilebaye which prompted Erica to say Nigerians love to pity.
However, netizens quickly reminded Erica about how she was once a beneficiary of pity. They told her to recall when Nigerians donated money and other material things to her through a GoFundMe.One verified Twitter User with the handle @Ogcsn wrote, "Lol no be pity make dem run gofundme and other donations for you so you go fit get evidence say you go BBN or are we missing something? You’re one of the major beneficiaries of pity."
One @dahtgirl_ajex wrote, "Keep crying. We work with what we have. Pity or not." Another follower @toolzmoney said she is disappointed at what Erica wrote because she was also a major beneficiary of GoFundMe. "I can't believe you'd actually shoot yourself in the leg like that knowing how much you benefitted from gofundme. I like u but let's be honest, even the house you got was as a result of pity."
Some even called Erica a "mumu" meaning (a dumb person).
