Alan Shearer was disappointed with the penalty call against his former club and did not hold back in saying his mind.

When a contentious VAR ruling gave the home team a penalty in injury time, Newcastle United was about to defeat Paris Saint-Germain in France.

To even the score and ruin the Magpies' celebration, Kylian Mbappe scored from the penalty spot.

The legendary Newcastle player Shearer expressed his displeasure with the penalty call on social media, calling the officiating "disgusting."

Posting on his X handle, the Premier League's leading all-time goalscorer said: "Do me a f*cking favor man. What a load of sh*t."

He also went on to add in a subsequent post, saying: "A superb battling away performance from every single player. Shouldn’t be spoilt by a disgusting decision. Well done @NUFC."

Eddie Howe, the manager of the Magpies, expressed his complete disappointment with the game's results and accused the home crowd at Parc des Princes of applying "extreme pressure" to the referees, which led to the contentious penalty call.

With the 1-1 draw, Newcastle's prospects of moving forward are now in jeopardy. With Borussia Dortmund having already advanced out of the group, Luis Enrique's PSG team now only needs one more point to advance to the next round of matches.

Now, Howe's team will get ready for a pivotal Premier League match on Saturday at St. James' Park against Manchester United.

Newcastle has to win in order to get back into the running for a top-four finish. At the moment, Newcastle is only one point behind United in the standings.
