Niger's prime minister under the junta, Ali Lamine Zeine stated that the body is free to dialogue with them in the coming days.

He said,"We have agreed and the leader of our country has given the green light for dialogue. They will now go back and inform the Nigerian President what they have heard from us.

We hope in the coming days, they will come here to meet us to discuss how the sanctions imposed against us will be lifted."

Tchiani stated that it was quite painful that ECOWAS wasn't willing to listen to the junta's side of the story before giving ultimatums.

However, he said the junta is open to dialogue with the body with the aim of reaching an agreement and resolving the crisis at hand.
