NSCDC arrests Ogun-based singer for raping 16-year-old girl
The Nigeria Security and Civil defense corps (NSCSC) have arrested a man who raped a 16-year-old girl in Ogun state. It was the Ogun command of the NSCDC who made the arrest of this man who has been identified as Odewala Iseoluwa Akinleye. Operatives of the NSCDC made the arrest recently in Ogun state. This man is a 35-year-old singer and the young girl he defiled is only 16 years old. The name of the young girl has been withheld for safety reasons.
After the arrest, the officers of the NSCDC paraded him at their command headquarters in Abeokuta and this was on Thursday, the 7th of December 2023. It was the spokesperson of the command, Dyke Ogbonnaya who revealed this, he revealed that they arrested this man after they received a report at the Anti-Human trafficking Irregular Migration and Gender unit of the command. They revealed that this unit received the case of this man who defiled a teenage girl. They received this case on Monday, the 4th of December 2023.
The family of the girl also shared some information, and they were able to launch an investigation and caught this man and brought him to their division before transferring it to the state headquarters. During the investigation, Odewala confessed to the crime. Soon enough, he will be charged to court. He also confessed that he was in a relationship with the mother of this 16-year-old girl before she traveled in 2017. He and this woman even have a son together. The woman travelled to Israel in 2017 and handed her children over to his elder sister. It was then he began to sleep with the young girl. He found it easy to do because they gave her a separate room so no one knew.
