Oscar Bobb's goal against Newcastle United has been voted as the Premier League Goal of the Month For January.

The 20-year-old Norwegian sensation came out top for Manchester City as the Premier League champions traded tackles with Newcastle United at St James' Park.

Bernardo Silva scored the opener for Manchester City but two quick goals by Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon turned around the game and fired the hosts into the lead with City trailing at the break. In the second half, Kevin De Bruyne, who was coming on for the first time since his lengthy injury layoff, scored the equaliser in the 74th minute. Newcastle United were fighting hard to snatch a draw and escape with a point but a late sensation by Oscar Bobb turned the game around for City.


Bobbed latched on a long pass over the top by Kevin De Bruyne and breezed pass Kieran Trippier before rounding up the Newcastle goalkeeper to score a beautiful goal from close range.

The crucial late goal, scored in the 91st minute of the game secured all three points for Manchester City. The goal was Bobb's first Manchester City in the Premier League since he transitioned from the academy to first-team action this season.

Bobb has now scored a Champions League goal and a Premier League goal for Manchester City after just 10 appearances for the club in the two competitions.

The Norwegian sensation will hope to continue on his prolific form City to cement his place in the squad.
