Oyo State House of Assembly has sacked Mr Lateef Sulaiman Adediran who is the chairman of Irepo Local Government Area in Oyo State.
This was over alleged diversion of funds.

This was during a plenary session which held on Thursday. The lawmakers had revealed that this man was sacked after a report by the Joint Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters and State Honours, Public Accounts, Finance and Appropriation had been presented.

They revealed how investigations into the allegations against the Chairman were conducted by the committee.

They then noted that this was in line with Section 21 of the local government law, 2001.

After they sacked him, they immediately gave directives to the vice chairman of the council to step into this position as acting chairman.

To fill the space of acting Vice Chairman, they directed Mr Busari Adegbenro who is the leader of the House to take this position.

They had found him guilty of diversion of public funds which were meant for the purchase of a Toyota Camry 2016 model.

They have directed that Mr. Lateef Sulaiman Adediran must refund a sum N4,616,800.00 to Irepo Local Government.
