On 6 September 2023, the petition court dismissed the Labour Party and Peter Obi's prayers at the court and declared president Tinubu winner.

To this effect, the former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi has revealed his plans to head to the Supreme Court to challenge the court's verdict affirming President Tinubu as the winner of the election.

He revealed this in a press conference yesterday in his hometown in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Obi said though the election tribunal has given their verdict, the responsibility now lies on the Supreme Court which is the highest judicial body in the country.

He said he has instructed his legal team to file an appeal against the court's ruling and he will follow it to the latter to ensure all necessary measures are taken.

He urged Nigerians to remain focused and abide by the law because he will not relent in his quest for justice.

He mentioned that serving judgment isn't tantamount to justice. Therefore, he will ensure the rights of the citizens who voted during the 2023 polls are not trampled upon.
