A fight which broke out between a man and his friend has led to this man cutting off his friend's hand.

This man has been identified as Auwal Usman, and he is 32 years old. He used a machete to cut off his friend's hands during a fight.

This incident occurred in Bauchi state. The Bauchi State Chief Magistrates’ Court has sentenced this man for his crimes.

The Presiding Judge is Haruna Mamma and he found this suspect to be guilty of these crimes.

This man resides in Dogon Ruwa village which is located in Ari, in Ningi Local Government Area.

There was a misunderstanding between himself and his friend who has been identified as Sabo Abduwa and this led to a physical fight.

It was the police prosecutor, Yusuf Musa, who revealed this to the court.

During the fight the suspect brought out a machete and cut the other man's hands off. The force of the cut made one of the hands fall off while the other was hanging.

The victim was quickly rushed to the Ningi General Hospital. They had to amputate the hand because the injury was very serious.

Sadly the man jas lost both hands due to this and would be disabled for the rest of his life.

The suspect admitted to his crimes but pleaded for leniency. He made this plea because he was a first time offender.

The court then sentenced him to two years in a correctional centre. The suspect was not given an option for fine because he had caused damages to his friend.

The court also ordered him to pay the victim N150,000 for his medical bills.
