Police arraign Siblings before court for defrauding a woman of $98,700

The police state command in Lagos State have arraigned 2 siblings before a court in Lagos for defrauding a woman for a sum of $98,700.
These siblings have been identified as Godwin Enahoro and Rosemary Enahoro.

They were both arraigned before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos Island on Friday. This was over alleged defraud of a sum of $98,700. This amount of money is worth millions of naira.

These siblings had pretended to want to help this woman recover her property when they scammed her.

The siblings are currently facing 10 counts of charges bordering on conspiracy, impersonation, obtaining, stealing, threat to life and receiving stolen property.

Inspector Cyriacus Osuji, who is the prosecutor, revealed to the court that the first defendant/sibling had conspired with some others to commit this crime.

He also revealed that this incident occurred between the 7th and 13th of June, 2023 in Lagos State.
He says that the first siblings had fraudulently obtained $13,500, from a woman who has been identified as Catherin Faw on the 7th of July.

He then revealed that this defendant futgere received $85,200 from this same woman who was the complainant on the 13th of June.

This sibling had falsely presented himself to this woman as an INTERPOL agent. He pretended that he was in a place where he could help her recover her property.
The second sibling had also received a sum of N10m, which were the fraudulent proceeds from this woman's property.

After the charges were read against them the siblings pleaded not guilty. Magistrate E. O. Ogunkanmi then granted them bail in the sum of N5m each alongside two sureties in like sum.

The magistrate also adjourned the case till the 25th of August, 2023, for mention.
The siblings will remain in custody until they have met the conditions of their bail.
