Police arrest man who beat his lover to death in Calabar
A Nigerian man has been arrested for beating his lover to death in Calabar.
This man has been identified as Nkeruewen Etuk. He is a 54 year old man and he beat his lover Esther Ndereke who is 34 years old to death.
This incident happened at Abasi Obori on Tuesday evening. This was after an argument with the two had ensued.

Some witnesses in the area Revealed it happened around 7:30 p.m that day.
They weren't sure what haoeorn but had been hearing some noise. They heard thei voices raised as they argued.
After some time, this man began to beat her and it was so serious ghag she had serious bruises and imprints on her body. The victim then slumped and she was immediately rushed to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH)
It was at the hospital that they confirmed she was dead. Her body has been deposited at the hospital morgue.
They contacted the Police Public Relations Officer SP Irene Ugbo. She has confirmed this incident and revealed that the officers in the district responded immediately.
She revealed it was the police who rushed the victim to the hospital but she didn't make it. Thy are awaiting an autopsy report on her body to understand the cause of death.
They have also arrested the suspect and he is in the police custody.
Further action will be taken as soon as investigation is completed.
