The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESCO) has arrested 13 people for crossing the highway without using the pedestrian bridge at Oshodi Oke, Lagos.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab disclosed this on Thursday. In February 2024, the Lagos State government warned residents against crossing the highway without using the pedestrian bridge or face prosecution.

On Wednesday, 73 people were arrested by LAGESCO for the same offense and for using the pedestrian bridge for accommodation and other unlawful activities. There has been close monitoring of the pedestrian bridges across the state to ensure the safety of users. The Lagos State government has urged residents to follow strict instructions to avoid facing penalties.
