Police Arrests suspect who strangled a student to death
Officials of the Police state command in Ondo have arrested a man who is suspected to have been involved in the strangling of a student to death in the state. The suspect has been identified as Oke Loya
This man, who is 27 years old, strangled a 17 year old student to death. This incident happened within the school premises in Ondo state.
The spokesperson of the command who is SP Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, revealed this in a statement yesterday, Thursday. She mentioned that the incident occured on the 4th of July. This was at Ijaw National High School in Akure.
She revealed that the young boy who was killed had called the suspect a mad man and this angered him and led to the murder.
It was the principal of the school who came to the station on the 4th of July and reported the case.
He reported that this man had been caught up in the rain and ran to the school to take shelter when this happened.
The victim has also been identified as Meretighan Timibra, a 17 year old boy. The victim is from Arogbo Ibe in Ese-Odo Local Government Area
The police have arrested him and detained him. This man then confessed that the boy had called him a mad man.
