Police rescue surgeon and 9 others fron Kidnappers in Benue
The officers of the Police Command in Benue State have rescued a surgeon and 9 9ther people who were kidnapped.
This surgeon who was rescued worked with the Federal Medical Centre, FMC in Makurdi, Benue State.
The victims had been held captive for 10 days in Gaya village, in Benue State.
The police command was also able to intervene and stop another attempt of the kidnappers in Makurdi-Lafia Road in Guma council.
They were also able to arrest some men who are suspected to be ritualists and behind the killing of a professional footballer, Babatunde Moses.
These men have been paraded at Headquarters of the police Command in Makurdi.
Mr Julius Okoro who is the new Police Commissioner for the state revealed that the surgeon that was kidnapped was abducted by these armed men on the 13th of May 2023.
He had been on a trip from Makurdi when he was abducted. The kidnappers then began to negotiate with the family of this man.
Investigation began and they found out about their hideout in the state and raided the place. They had been engaged in a gun fight and eventually were able to arrest 3 suspects while one was killed. Some others escaped into the bush.
The doctor was rescued unhurt. The police recovered some weapons from the hideout of these criminals
