Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has said that actors, professionals, and musicians had "sold their souls to politicians" ahead of the 2023 general election.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the 39-year-old son of music great Fela Kuti said this while explaining why 'poor Nigerians sell their votes.'

Some Nigerian professionals, he claims, have sold their souls to politicians, destroying Nigeria in the name of "performing my job."

"If I hear another'stop selling your votes' directed at the poor by those who have already'sold their souls,' I'm going to snap," he wrote.

"The reason why poor Nigerians have no choice but to sell their votes is that all, or at least the vast majority (99.9%) of Nigerian professionals have sold their souls in the guise of 'performing their jobs.'"

Journalists Lecturers are judged. Bankers Oil industry employees Landowners Cattle ranchers, police officers, soldiers, civil servants, engineers, accountants, and others have sold their souls and are willing to commit any evil deed in the name of 'performing their job.'
