Ekiti State's former governor, Ayo Fayose has urged Nigerians to be patient and show some level of understanding to Pres. Tinubu because he inherited a dead economy from the previous administration.
In an interview with Channels TV, Ayo Fayose advised Pres. Tinubu to stay focused, perform his duties, and stay away from public distractions. Fayose stated that Pres. Tinubu inherited a dead economy and he came into power at a tough time. He said the president isn't responsible for the current state of the economy. Therefore, Nigerians should exercise patience amidst agitation over the cost of living.
Fayose recalled that the former minister of finance once disclosed that Nigeria services its debt with 83% of its income. In this case, it is not feasible to curtail the economic situation in a short time. While some may say Pres. Tinubu has not been able to perform like he did as a governor in Lagos, Fayose said Nigeria is a bigger entity than Lagos, so it shouldn't be compared to each other.
