President Tinubu has appointed eight new special advisers for his administration.

Who are these new special advisers to the President?​


1. Mr. Dele Alake
He was a former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and a Fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors. Mr. Alake bagged a BSc and MSc at the University of Lagos. In 1993, he served as the Adviser of Information to Chief MKO Abiola. He was born on the 6th of October, 1956.
Mr. Alake is now the Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

2. Mr. Wale Edun
In 1989, he co-founded Stanbic IBTC PLC. He was a former Head of Treasury and Deputy Head of Corporate Finance at Chase Merchant Bank.

Mr. Edun was born on the 25th of June, 1962. From 1999-2007, he served as the Honourable Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State. Presently, he's been appointed as the Special Adviser on Monetary Policy to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

3. Dr. Salma Anas Ibrahim
She is an expert Public Health Physician with over 30 years of experience. She is also a fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College and a member of the West African College of Physicians.

She was a two-time Commissioner for Health in Borno State from 2011-2015. Dr. Salma advocates for quality and equal access to Healthcare among children, adolescents, women, the elderly, and other vulnerable and marginalized groups.

She has been appointed as the Special Adviser on Health to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

4. Mr. Nuhu Ribadu
He previously served as the Executive Chairman of EFCC from 2003-2007. Mr.Nuhu was born on the 21st of November, 1960. He was once a presidential aspirant under the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

In 2007, he served as Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG). He's been appointed as the Special Adviser on Security to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

5. Yau Darazo was appointed as the new Special Adviser for Political and Intergovernmental Affairs to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

6. Zacchaeus Adedeji as the Special Adviser for Revenue to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

7. John Ugochukwu Uwajumogu was appointed as the Special Adviser for Industry, Trade, and Investment.

8. Mrs. Olu Verheijen as the Special Adviser for Energy to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
