Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has provided an update on Kylian Mbappe amid his looming move to Real Madrid

Kylain Mbappe's future at PSG remains a topic of serious speculation, with several reports indicating that the forward has already decided to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.

The former AS Monaco player has been a target for Real Madrid since last summer but Al-Khelaifi remains positive about his possibility of staying at the French club.

Al-Khelaifi was pressed with questions on the Mbappe transfer saga but the president didn't give a solid response.

Speaking during the UEFA Congress in Paris, Al-KhelaIfi told reporters, "When we have both decided, we will tell you what's gonna happen with Mbappe, nothing yet".

This is not the first time Nasser Al-Khelaifi has opposed a potential transfer for Mbappe. In the past, Al-Khelaifi has made clear he hopes the 25-year-old forward remains at the club.

Mbappe's PSG contract expires in the summer, meaning he can leave the Ligue 1 powerhouse for nothing in June. Numerous outlets in France are declaring that the France International player's mind is made up.

However, if Mbappe makes the move to Madrid, it would mark the end of a lengthy transfer saga and strengthen an already tough team alongside talents like Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham.

The 2018 World Cup winner has previously reflected his intention to depart PSG on peaceful terms, ensuring his hometown club receives reasonable compensation, and has allegedly guaranteed to give up on a hefty loyalty bonus of 80 million euros.

Meanwhile, If Mbappe is to seal his move to the Santiago Bernabeu, then he won't happen as cheap for Real Madrid, even on a free transfer.

Mbappe demanded a staggering salary of 50 million euros per year, which would make the 25-year-old the highest-paid player by some distance, ahead of the likes of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.

The French forward is also believed to have asked for a 125 million euro signing bonus, which is a transfer fee that Real Madrid would have had to pay should the forward remain under contract.

What's next?

Kylian Mbappe will remain focused on PSG until the end of the season, even if he leaves in the summer, therefore, he'll be part of the team that will face LOSC Lille in French Ligue 1 on Saturday, February 10, at 21:00 (GMT).

In addition, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid will seal Mbappe's transfer deal in the summer, or if the 25-year-old will stay with Paris Saint Germain.
