In a frantic game at Kenilworth Road, Manchester United snatched all 3 points against Luton Town.

Rasmus Hojlund was sublime during the encounter, as he netted 2 early goals in the opening 10 minutes of action.

Hojlund scored in the first minute of the clash, with the Danish forward rounding Hatter's goalie Thomas Kaminski before rolling the ball into an empty.

Six minutes later, he showed his brilliance yet again, with a cracking volley from Garnacho in the edge of the area deflecting off the chest of Rasmus Hojlund.

The 21-year-old's fortunate effort caught Luton's goalkeeper going the wrong way, with Manchester United cruising in the early stages.

Given Erik Ten Hag's side's impressive start to the game, many felt the clash was going to be a whitewash in favor of the away side.

However, Luton Town got back into reckoning, after Carlton Morris powered home a header beyond the reach of Andre Onana.

Morris pulled one back for Rob Edwards, with the team also troubling Manchester United on many occasions.

The Red Devils like most games this campaign opted for swift and quick football, with the team paying little or no attention to controlling the game.

Luton Town enjoyed the lion's share of possession in the encounter, with the home side having a healthy 58% possession compared to Manchester United's 42%.

Definitely, it was an evening full of suspense for supporters of the Red Devils, due to the chances seen by the Hatters all through the game.

Two minutes into stoppage time, Morris set free Alfie Doughty with a brilliant ball over the top, unfortunately, his attempt went wide.

Luke Shaw appears to be nursing a minor knock and just like the game against Aston Villa, he was substituted deep into stoppage time of the first half for Victor Lindelof.

In the second period, Bruno Fernandes was set up by Rasmus Hojlund with a nice through-ball, with the Portuguese catching goalie Kaminski out of position.

Fernandes rounded Luton Town's goalkeeper, leaving him with just an empty net, however, he couldn't find the back of the net due to a last-ditch tackle from Albert Sambi Lokonga.

Eleven minutes before the end of the clash, Hojlund could have penned his name in history as one of the Manchester United players to score a hat-trick in the club's history, however, his effort was saved.

Right at the death of the clash, Ross Barkley could have gotten Luton Town level and sent the stadium into cacophonic joy.

Unfortunately for Rob Edwards and his side, the Englishman's header crashes onto the top of the crossbar, with Manchester United heaving a sigh of relief.

Anyway, Manchester United return to action on Saturday, February 24, 2024, facing Fulham, in a Matchday 26 Premier League encounter.

Meanwhile, Luton Town travel for a grueling clash against Liverpool at Anfield, in a fixture that will also test if they have what it takes to remain in the top-flight.

The Red Devils sit 6th on the Premier League table with 44 points, just 5 points behind 4th placed Aston Villa and the dream of UEFA Champions League football next season is very much alive.

Luton Town are ranked 17 on the Premier League log with 20 points, only a spot and 1 point better than the drop zone.
