Actress Regina Daniels Nwoko announced her appointment as the social secretary of the 10th Senator's wives association of Nigeria. She said that yesterday, June 20, was the first meeting of the union. They discussed how each member could assist her husband to help move Nigeria forward.
She wrote, "Yesterday was the first inaugural meeting of the 10th Senator’s wives association of Nigeria. Hosted by our mummy Her Excellency mrs Ekaette Akpabio the wife of the senate president of Nigeria."
"It was a meeting specifically about the growth of our country and ways in which we can help our senators/husbands and the First Lady of the federation serve the great people of Nigeria better. I was also made the social secretary of the forum. I look forward to a great Nigeria," she concluded.
Well, the announcement did not sit well with a few Nigerians, while others had a different perspective on Regina's post.
@Inno4Chi said, "Very useless association. Ideally women should represent around 30-50% of the total number of Senators. That way the position ‘Senator’ will no longer sound masculine requiring an association for their spouses." @jskay7 added that the association is sustained by the money of tax payers assembled through pet projects presented to the public by their husbands.
While some people were clearly disgusted, some were shocked to hear that Senator's wives have an association. @ajuba101 said, "Senators wives have association?" One King Merlin added that Nigeria is a failed country, "Government go dey pay them as them dey . Naija na failed country."
