Russian tourist killed by Shark in Egypt
A Russian man who is a tourist has been killed by a Shark in Egypt. The man died in an Egyptian resort after he had been attacked by a shark.
The Russian Consulate in Hurghada has been able to identify this man but they didn't release his name. He just identified him as a citizen of Russia.
He died at one of Egypt’s Red Sea resorts. The attack happened in the water near the city of Hurghada. It was the Environment ministry of Egypt who reached this. Both the Egyptian and the Russian authorities have confirmed the news of his death yesterday, Friday.
The authorities closed off a part of the coastline and they have announced that this area is off limits until Sunday.
The distance they closed off is about 46 miles.
The ministry has also revealed that they have been able to catch the shark that attacked this man. They are examining it in a laboratory so that they can determine or understand the cause of the sudden attack.
Shark attacks are not common in this area but there were two incidences last year.
