As stated by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination Board students from over 150 institutions that offer three-level certificates will be barred from obtaining direct entry due to know verification of their certificate by the institutions that offer those certificates.
Your direct entry registration is set to commence by 28 February 2024 according to the information gathered from the examination board. Earlier last year around February 2023 the examination board he should an advisory to prospective candidates intending to register for direct entry to contact their institution for verification of their A-Level certificate.

The advisory was issued in order to prevent the use of fake or forged certificates by prospective direct entry applicants this verification process allows JAMB to identify authentic certificates and take actions for forged or fake certificates.
The board informed that they have reached out to all institutions issuing A-level certificates and the majority of those institutions have responded positively but some are still yet to respond to the memo sent out by the board to address the issue.

It has come to the notice of the board that some meticulous individuals have been playing tricks by using unacceptable or forged A-level certificates to obtain a direct entry form. To curb this action the board contacted all institutions offering a level certificate through the admission central processing unit to verify the authenticity of certificates and results presented by people who are using certificates from the various institutions that offer them. A lot of such institutions have started the verification process and have verified most of the certificates from their institutions some other institutions are yet to do so, and some have partially or ignored them despite the letter and several follow-ups sent by the examination board.

As of the time we are gathering this news around 2,795 certificates are yet to be verified from 155 different institutions which include Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo; College of Health Technology, Plateau; College of Education, Lafiagi, Kwara state; College of Education, Oju, Benue state to mention both few.
The Nigeria Post Secondary Education Data System (NIPEDS) reports that they sent notifications to institutions offering the A-Level certificate to fast-track the process of verification to enable the students to get their admission processed but some of those institutions have not responded.
NIPEDS in its words said that many institutions have not responded to NIPEDS, which needs to verify their students’ A-level certificates. Therefore, the admission process of these students will be on hold until their certificates are confirmed.

In light of this, it is very essential for every student that aims to register for the direct entry program for the 2024 2025 academic session to make sure that they contact their various institution for the verification of their certificate as any certificate that is not being properly verified either by the admission central processing unit or the NIPEDS will not be processed for admission. To avoid wasting money and time on the prospective candidate, any candidate who has obtained his certificate before the memo is released in 2023 should reach out to the institution that issues that certificate and make sure there his certificate is properly processed so that such candidate can be considered for admission.
