Sexual advances: Female soldier speaks out over the maltreatment she is subjected to for refusing to sleep with her senior colleagues
A female soldier has spoken out over the maltreatment she has been facing while in the army. She was triggered to disclose all that had been happening to her after Governor Sanwo-Olu arrested one of her colleagues who broke the traffic law in Lagos State. She agreed that Governor Sanwo-Olu was wrong for arresting a soldier, however, the army officials weren't clean. She said that they are more evil and treat officers in the lower ranks like dirt.
This lady called out three of her senior colleagues who have been making sexual advances towards her. She said each time that happened, she refused to comply with their wishes. As a result, they've been making her stay in the military unbearable. She specifically mentioned one Colonel IB Abdulkareem, Col. Gs Ogor, and Brig. Gen IB Solebo. She narrated how one of them lied on her that she had mental illness because she turned down his sexual advances.
She said she was abandoned in a psychiatric hospital for a month without visitation and missed her classes. She also added, "Most of our senior officers are very very wicked, they are even worse than Governor Sanwo-Olu." This female soldier said she is aware that her senior colleagues will come for her after seeing that she has exposed their secrets, however, she needed to call them out so they would stay off her neck.
Hours after her video went viral, an official statement from the Nigerian Army X page urged members of the public to desist from jumping into conclusion until a proper investigation is conducted to ascertain the claims of this female soldier.
